DAO was the architect and urban designer for a team led by Johnson Economics for the University Place Hotel site at the southern tip of campus.  The firms were commissioned to develop a range of redevelopment scenarios for the 4-acre parcel, adjacent to TriMet’s Lincoln Station MAX stop.  Incorporating input from a large Technical Advisory Committee of BPS, PDC, PBOT representatives, numerous University departments, neighborhood stakeholders, and interested developers, DAO provided programming and a range of conceptual designs for the buildings and urban circulation networks connecting the parcel to the existing campus framework.

A mix of academic, conference hotel, residential, neighborhood grocery, and flexible office workspace formed the bulk of recommended uses by the University.  The Development Scenarios were presented to the administration and public and is informing the University and potential partners of the opportunities for the site’s future development.
